Xiangxi UNESCO Global Geopark wins international award

On September 9, at the closing ceremony of the 10th UNESCO Global Geoparks Conference, Xiangxi UNESCO Global Geopark was granted the Best Practice Award.
There are three global geoparks awarded this prize at the conference. Xiangxi UNESCO Global Geopark has always adhered to the concept of “lauding the wonders of nature and promoting regional development” in the management and construction of the park.
During the event, Jiezhong Batik Workshop in Huayuan County, as a typical representative of the park’s development, demonstrated how the park helped the employment of disabled people and promoted sustainable community development through the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage.
